The Wonderful World Of FTP
As I write this post, I have been waiting for my FTP client, FileZilla, which by the way is a wonderful free FTP client, to delete an installation of a web application I recently uploaded to my web server for testing purposes.
The entire size of the web application is around 30 MB, made up of around 500+ folders and 3000+ files. At the time of this writing, FileZilla has been running for around 4+ hours just to delete this web application!
Can someone say "Holy crap!" The upload procedure was relatively quick so I was kind of hoping the delete procedure would be as equally quick, but alas, it seems God is frowning down upon me right now.
Why the heck is deleting files through FTP always so slow? Am I dreaming? Someone please wake up! ... Sorry, I guess this is pre-delete anxiety kicking in as it looks like I am doomed to wait yet another 4 hours for this God forsaken thing to finish.
