Teradata ODBC Connection For Linux

Here is the steps need to be done in order to get NCR Teradata run Business Objects XI 3.x Web Intelligence Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 (RHEL 5):

1. Install Teradata Client on the RHEL 5
2. Edit the ODBC.INI in the "bobje" directory and configure it as shown below :

[ODBC Data Sources]
teradataodbc= NCR 3600 running Teradata V2R6.1

[teradataodbc]
Driver=/usr/odbc/drivers/tdata.so
Description=NCR 3600 running Teradata V2R6.1
DBCName= Username=username of the database
Password=password of the database
DefaultDatabase= Characterset=UTF8


3. Create .odbc.ini file in /home/"username" and copy the the contents of odbc.ini (in bobje directory to it)


After completeing the above steps Web Intelligence should run the reports without producing any errors
